Draining screed

Draining screed, The draining screed is composed of concrete with an open structure, permitting the rapid evacuation of water. It is used in particular outdoors or on flat roofs, to facilitate the flow of water and avoid stagnations. Thanks to its porosity, it promotes drainage while offering good mechanical stability.

Process

How does it work?

Davide Chape uses modern equipment, such as mixer trucks, to ensure optimal quality. Here is a more detailed process for making screeds:

01
Analysis and preparation of the site
  • Surface inspection: checking for cleanliness and flatness.
  • Installation of the necessary layers (plastic film, insulation, membranes, etc.) according to the type of screed chosen.
02
Preparing the mixture
  • Mixer trucks prepare a homogeneous mixture of cement, sand, water and, if necessary, additives (fibers, drying accelerators, dispersants for floor heating, etc.) directly on site.
03
Application of the screed
  • The screed is dumped directly from the trucks or transported to the work area.
  • Levelling is carried out using vibrating rulers or specific tools to ensure a perfectly flat surface.
04
Reinforcement and finishes
  • If necessary, metal mesh or fiber can be added to reinforce the screed.
  • Smoothing the surface for a flawless finish.
05
Drying and quality control
  • Drying time adapted to the type of screed (1 week per cm for a traditional screed or a few days for a quick screed).
  • Inspection by Davide Chape's quality manager before final validation.
